结果表明，雪鸡二倍体染色体数目2n=78，染色体基本臂数AF=85，前10对为大型染色体，后29对为微小染色体，性染色体为ZZ ZW型；根据前10对染色体相对长度、臂比值及着丝粒指数的测量结果，各染色体的形态为：第1、2、5号染色体及Z染色体为中央着丝粒染色体，其余染色体为端着丝粒染色体，并绘制了雪鸡前10对染色体常规核型模式图；根据雪鸡各号染色体特异性G-带带纹分布，绘制了包括前10号常染色体和Z，W性染色体在内的G-带模式图，共分为32个区，143条深浅带；雪鸡染色体经C分带处理，所有母鸡分裂相中W性染色体都出现C-带并整条深染，易于识别，这进一步证实了C-带分析可以作为禽类性别鉴定的一种有效的方法。
