A critical feature of FPLAs, absent in bipolar PROMs, is their editing capability. A number of modifications can be incorporated in a program already stored in the FPLA. Specifically in some FPLAs, product terms can be added or deleted from any output function, input variables can be deleted from any output function, and input variables can be deleted from any product terms. Also, outputs programmed activehigh can be reprogrammed to activelow.
