The results showed that:1the expansion rate of cut rag increased wigh tge increase of input moisture content and air temperature; 2 when the input moisture content was 22%, the expansion rate of cut rag, the pgyxical index and smoke index of cigarette were comparable wigh those dried by a cylind er dryer; 3the expansion rate of cut rage was raised by imcreasing steam flow within the tested range; 4the cigarette weight and tar delivery decreased wigh the increase of imput moisture content of cut rag and air temperature, however, nicotine and carbon monoxide deliveries of the cigarette basically unchange; 5the input moisture content of cut rag suitalble to medium and low price cigarettes was 24%and 28%, respectively. However, the cut rag for premium cigarettes was unfavorable to be dried with HXD.

It was found that poly took a compact coil conformation in TCB, a not very good solvent, at 150℃ by GPC-TALLS/DLS technique, which was proved to be a convenient and quick method to study the shape and conformation of polymers in solution at high temperature. However, the flow-mode DLS was only applicable for high molecular weight polymers with a higher refractive index increment. Trap-flow DLS experiments corroborated the flow-mode DLS results of PDMS and provided an alternative method for those samples which were difficult to be accurately characterized by flow-mode DLS. It was found that both propylene-ethylene random copolymer and polynorbornene took a random coil conformation in TCB at 150℃ by GPC-TALLS combined with trap-flow DLS.
