The paper includes six parts: the first part shows the significance of research, research situation and research course; the second part shows the geological character of Shandong province; the third part shows the partition of Shandogn geology, the range of the familiar soil bearing capacity and the range of the soil physical and mechanical index; the forth part shows the inquire system of Shandong geology base on GIS; the fifth part shows the research of the ground bearing capacity of the Yellow River Delta silty; the sixth part shows the conclusion and lack of this paper. The work of this paper include five steps: the first step is to comprehensively know of the geological character of Shandong by use of the character of landform, the character of stratum lithology, the character of geological construct, the character of groundwater, the character of geological disaster and the character of quaternary distributing; the second step is to divide Shandong into six research plots base on the character of geological and give the engineering character and stratum histogram of every plot; the third step is to statistic 3957 sample and give the range of the soil ground bearing capacity and the standard value of 9 physical and mechanical index; the forth step is to exploit the inquire system of Shandong geology by use of ARC VIEW and VB; the fifth step is to research the ground bearing capacity of the Yellow River Delta silty by use of plate load test, spire plate load test, flate plate dilatometer test, static cone penetration test, standard penetration test and normal lab test.
