After admitted to our hospital, a thorough physical examination revealed an abscess formation near the medial aspect of the right thigh. 本病例报告一66岁男性，5年多前诊断为糖尿病并以运动及饮食控制，2年多前发现远端肢体麻木，但直至入院前并无肌无力或肌萎缩之现象，日常生活完全独立，步态正常，四个月前肌肉拉伤并发感染在院外治疗无效后转至本院，入院后发现为大腿内侧近肛门处脓疡，并接受两次开刀及抗生素治疗，因并发肺炎、肋膜积水、急性全身水肿之后发生非常明显之肢体无力及肌萎缩，且日常生活需他人照顾，无法站力及步行能力，於是转入复健科后安排神经传导及肌电检查，发现四肢多条神经有病变及多处肌肉急性去神经变化，病患虽有糖尿病病史，但病程之感染及急性发展，神经传导及肌电检查情形，符合急性急症多发性神经病变的诊断要件。
