The experimental equipment is designed by the author for investigating the hydrodynamics and mass transfer characteristics of the new sieve baffle tray. The experimental result is as follows: The maximum entrainment is only 0.06% and much less than the allowable 10%, which means that the operational flexibility of the new tray is large. Under the same operation condition, its pressure drop is lower than the traditional tray, even adding baffle in column, which means that the new tray has the advantage of operating at high liquid/gas ratio. Experimental work was done to obtain the mass transfer efficiency by the humidification of air. The Experimental result shows that the efficiency of mass transfer becomes lower when the velocity of empty column is increasing and when the liquid load is increasing. Increasing the height of weir, the efficiency of mass transfer becomes low down. When adding the baffles, the mass transfer efficiency becomes higher.
自行设计了实验装置对该塔板的流体力学和传质情况进行了研究，我们得到，此种塔板的雾沫夹带率最大只有0.06%，远远小于传统塔板要求雾沫夹带率小于10%的上限，因此塔板操作弹性比较大；在相同气液流动参数条件下，此塔板的压降远远小于传统塔板，如果根据操作需要，即使在折流塔板内加一定数目挡板，其压降也远低于传统塔板，这使得此种塔板在高液气比下，具有传统塔板无可比拟的优点；运用空气增湿的方法对气体折流塔板进行了传质实验，实验结果表明，此塔板的传质效率随着空塔气速的增加下降，随着喷林密度的增加而降低，随着堰高增加传质效率逐渐变小，在塔板间加挡板的传质效率明显高于不加挡板的传质效率，并且挡板的开空率60％的传质效果要好于开空率40％的，并且在气液比小于10的条件下，折流塔板的传质效率明显高于筛板，而在气液比大于19情况正好相反。
