The study objectives were to compare changes of ion concentrations and seasonal differences of throughfall for 3 types of forest stands, China-fir plantation, secondary hardwood stand, and natural hardwood stand in Guandaushi Forest, in central Taiwan from July 1995 to June 1996. Seasonal changes of concentrations of throughfall were higher in the winter especially in November, and the secondary hardwood stand had the highest concentrations.
