TRA upgraded traction system into AC electrified rail system more than 20-year up to now. On some electrified train operating technique still stay in 1970s such as power characteristics. It is dynamic but not one typical value. Actually, according to our research shows power characteristics as power factor, operating efficiency, and total harmonic distortion dynamic vary in various operating conditions. Therefore, the real power factor is with variation on 30~80% not a typical vale. More, this typical value may conduct inaccuracy computation on power consumption, and the other power characteristics are the same as power factor.
台铁电气化迄今二十余年，关於电力列车运转部分技术仍停滞於1970年代水准，以列车动态电力技术为例，仍然沿用当初单一典型数值，而由本研究成果显示，列车动态电力特性如功率因数、运转效率、总谐波畸变因数等数值会随著列车於不同运转状态的变异甚大，例如功率因数变动范围是30%~80%变异很大，如以典型数据推算耗能会有很大的误差，其余电力特性亦类似。
