It was suggested that thenature of anelasticity in the non-Hooke region before yielding is of rubberydeformation. The induction period is the time needed for the relaxation of rubberydeformation through cooperative internal rotation whereas the residual rubberydeformation transforms to the Hooke spring, thus creating a stress step-increase.
