The result with subtable method of a single nearest-neighbour contingency table (Pielou's coefficient of segregation) and log-linear method of a multiple nearest-neighbour contingency table are similar, while different in certain species pairs. Moreover, there is no negative segregation in the analysis with multiple neighbour method. The causes could be: 1. the scale reflected by multiple neighbour method is larger than single one; 2. Pielou's coefficient has no significant test; 3. multiple neighbour method is more accurate for species with few individuals.
