Frontal lobe epilepsy is prone to attack insleep, so sleep EEG is important in the evaluation of nocturnal epilepsy, especially in idiopathic nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsy.

ResultsIdiopathic nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsy has distinctive clinical seizure characteristics. The onset age is younger than 20 and the ratio of male cases to female cases is 2 to 1. The most notable clinical characteristics are nocturnal clustered postural or dystonic seizures and complex motor activities, with 14% of the patients have epileptic family history. The interictal routine EEG of 22.9% and active EEG of 28% cases in wakeness and 38% cases in sleep showed frontal lobe epileptiform discharge while the ictal EEG of 66.7% cases showed frontal lobe epileptiform discharge. Drug therapy is effective in 80% cases with 30% completely controlled.

In order to improve the classification accuracy of mental EEG, the rhythm assimilation effect of EEG was used in the study of mental task classification firstly in this dissertation. A series of experiments schemes, which try to make different types of mental EEG carried with different and classifiable rhythm assimilation information, were projected and the rhythm assimilation phenomenon of different type mental EEG was explored detailedly.

This study includes two aspects: At the one hand, two types of mental EEG signal, one was collected during a fixed frequency sinusoidally modulated light stimulation and the other was collected without photic stimulation, have been studied contrastively to explore the possibility of different mental task EEG bringing with different rhythm assimilation response under the same frequency SML stimulation. The study results show that the oscillation of the rhythm corresponding to the stimulation frequency appeared in mental EEG during fixed frequency SML stimulation. The amplitude of the rhythm oscillation didn't descend with stimulation time and different mental EEG showed different rhythm assimilation effect at the same electrode position and a mental EEG showed different rhythm assimilation characteristics at different positions.
